Your business model is the product
The business model encompasses everything about how your organisation will create, deliver and capture value. Your product, web start-up or otherwise, could have many different possible models but how do you know which ones are worth pursuing? By understanding your business model and the assumptions you have created you can start to determine which ones are a risky bet and which ones are grounded in reality.
In this talk Stuart Eccles will cover the characteristics of classic business models, the how to validate key assumptions and how to use the business model canvas to understand and iterate your model.
In 2007 Stuart co-founded Made by Many to experiment with a new type of agency – a digital products & services company that works more like a web start-up. Before that he survived a Masters Degree in Engineering and 10 years experience as a software engineer, technical architect and management consultant working on internal systems and large-scale websites and applications. During the day Stuart is the lead technologist working on delivering digital products. He is an advocate of, mentor and frequent speaker on Agile project methodologies and Lean Startup applied to the strategy, design and development of digital services and products.
